Mel - Yeah, I know, that s what she told everybody. I took the test 2nd hour this morning...I can tell you what the questions really are.
Susan - I suppose the honor system applies to everyone but you and me!
Mel - I was just trying to do a friend a favor.
Susan - Excuse me, I see Marilyn and I want to give her back the pen I gave her. Bye, Dean

Mel - brushing off Dean s arm - It s not guff! The other night at 10:30 I saw him walking down Jefferson Street, and he s supposed to be in bed at 10! As a matter of fact, that was the night I took Susan home from the library - ask her if you don t believe me! I think somebody oughta tell the Coach, don t you?

Dean - I don t get it. You know how important this game is. And you know what the training rules are.
Andy - You bet I know how important that game is. That s why I ve been out walking. But I get plenty of sleep. I take a nap right after dinner, before I start studying....
Dean - But why?
Andy - My bad knee. In the last game it got a little twisted. Just a little bit. But you know what the coach said - if it ever bothered me again, I was through. I just couldn t let him - or anybody - see me exercising. I ve had to do the work on my own.

Dean - Let it go, Susan, it doesn t matter.
Susan - Well it does to me. You know what I think of you Mel, I think you re just plain jealous of Dean and Andy because they re athletes and they get along well in class and everybody likes them and you just can t stand that. (19:46:39:00)

Mel - Well, she s really sold on you isn t she? I guess you didn t tell her where you were late last night...I guess she doesn t know why you played such a rotten game

CUT CU shy boy s face, deciding to act.
CUT GS Shy boy eventually walks up to the group and says: Hey, you guys want to hear something.
Group: Depends on what it is.
Shy: Well this is too good to keep. The other night I was out with Susan Harper.
Group: Susan?
Shy: Yeah...oh maybe I shouldn t have said anything.
Looks over his shoulder at one boy staring at the ground. To him he says: You re not going to stay with her are you?
Him: No.
Shy: Well in that case. He whispers.
MCU group of boys listening intently.
Group: Susan said that. No kidding.
Shy: Yeah, yeah.
Bell rings group breaks up except for two.
One: I think he s just bragging. I doubt if he even had a date with Susan. He s the kind of guy who will say anything to get some attention. See ya.
They both walk away.

GS football player walking slowly down hallway. Nerdier guy walks quickly behind him chattering away about football, etc. Jock just wants him to go away.
The nerdy guy starts dishing about one of the jock s teammates. He saw him out after curfew. The nerd says he should tell the coach. The jock takes offense, grabs him by the shirt and threatens him.

She: Golly. Everybody s quiet tonight. I guess they re tired after the game.
He: Susan, you can t have much of a victory celebration without a victory.
She: Don t feel badly, we all new they were going to be tough. I just hope Andy isn t hurt seriously.
They stop dancing.

CUT MS Mel walking towards them.
