At least one city police officer was injured. Officials from the federal Attorney General's Office and the Federal Agency of Investigation were leaving an event in the city on Friday afternoon when the attack happened, said a spokesman for the Attorney General's office in the Pacific coast state of Guerrero. The four victims were wearing hats with the initials of the investigative agency, known as AFI, and bulletproof vests. In 2005, there were more than 40 execution-style killings in Acapulco. Investigators say many of the murders stem from a turf war between drug gangs fighting for Acapulco's growing local drug market and smuggling routes along the resort's coastline.
