A one-month-old baby was dropped by his mother out the window of her burning apartment in the Bronx and miraculously caught in-mid-air by nearby people, according to a report by US broadcaster ABC. The fire broke out in a third-floor apartment on Wednesday morning, ABC reported. The mother was not able to escape with the baby, because the fire was raging in the kitchen behind her, blocking her from the door and forcing her and her newborn baby up against the window, the report said. The apartment building's superintendent, told ABC he wasn't sure what the woman was holding outside the window until she let go. "She threw the baby across," said Felix Vazquez, "I ran in and just caught him." He said the baby was covered in black soot and was not breathing until he blew air into his lungs. Firefighters were able to save the mother, and both are now doing fine, ABC reported.
