A man suspected of killing abortion doctor George Tiller is being held at the Sedgwick County Jail in Wichita, Kansas (Mon, 6/1). But charges have not yet been filed and no court hearing has been scheduled. District Attorney Nola Foulston says there is no need to rush the case because it's much more important that officers and her office be diligent and thorough in their investigation. Foulston also said the case would be a state case, not a federal case. According to the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office website, 51-year-old Scott Roeder was booked shortly after 11:00 Sunday night after being detained in the Kansas City area (5/31). Tiller was gunned down while he was ushering at Reformation Lutheran Church in Wichita Sunday morning. A man well-known for performing late-term abortions , Dr. Tiller has been a target for violence several times during his career.
