Medium of saleswoman modelling the dress STORYLINE The dress worn by Kate Middleton in official photographs marking her engagement to Prince William is back on sale in shops across the globe, after a surge in demand from customers. Middleton wore the 'Nanette' dress, by British designer Reiss, for a photo shoot with Mario Testino in November. Reiss withdrew the dress for their autumn/winter collection but announced in January that it would be available in shops once more. Lyndon Mackenzie, the general manager of the Reiss shop in Soho, New York, said the dress had been remade in a lighter fabric since Middleton bought hers, but that the style was the same. The dress retails in the states for 310 US dollars and Mackenzie said he thought it was an "affordable luxury" for women. Middleton purchased the dress at the designer's London store last year and Mackenzie said he hoped she might even consider going back to the shop to buy her wedding dress. "We definitely hope that she will be choosing Reiss, but we'll wait and see. I just believe that it's going to be something very timeless and classic and very sophisticated, just like what's she worn for her engagement," he said. The couple will marry on April 29 at Westminster Abbey in London.
