Fans lined up at Bloomingdales in Manhattan to sample the new fragrance, "Glamorous Daylight" and to meet the star who is known for her work in films such as 'All the Pretty Horses' and 'Vanilla Sky', and for being the partner of superstar Tom Cruise. Cruz spoke to APTN about her personal definition of glamour and about her future aspirations. Audiences will see her next in 'Fan Fan la Tulip' which will premiere and open the Cannes Film Festival. Before Cruz made her foray into Hollywood and became girlfriend to Tom Cruise, she was a bona fide star in her native Spain. Her first big international hit was Pedro Almodovar's 'Todo Sobre Mi Madre' (1999) (All About My Mother), in which she played an unchaste but well-meaning nun. The film was showered with awards and accolades and Cruz became in demand on both sides of the Atlantic. Next came 'Woman on Top' (2000) and roles opposite Johnny Depp in the drug-trafficking drama 'Blow' (2001) and Matt Damon in Billy Bob Thornton's 'All the Pretty Horses' (2000). She also starred alongside Nicholas Cage in 'Captain Corelli's Mandolin' in 2201 as well as starring in Cameron Crowe's Vanilla Sky (2001) (a remake of the Spanish film Abre Los Ojos (1997), directed by Alejandro Amenabar, in which she played the same character.
