Lana Clarkson, 40, was discovered by B-movie king Roger Corman and starred in a series of films including 'Barbarian Queen', a character Corman said was the model for TV's 'Xena: Warrior Princess'. One month before Phil Spector was taken in for questioning in her death, he gave what's described as his first interview in 25 years. Spector told the London Daily Telegraph that he's "probably relatively insane to an extent." He says he takes medication because he's bipolar. Spector says he has "devils inside" and as a result, he has been a "very tortured soul." Entertainment paper 'Variety' says Spector met Lana Clarkson at the House of Blues just hours before police were called to his home. Clarkson started working at the House of Blues as a ticket collector and hostess last month. A friend says Clarkson thought it would be a way "back into the mainstream" of Hollywood. Clarkson spent part of her final days signing autographs at a comic book convention. Spector was arrested before dawn Monday for investigation of first-degree murder after Clarkson's body was found in the foyer of his mansion, about 15 miles (24 kilometers) northeast of Los Angeles. He was freed Monday night after posting $1 million bail. No charges have been filed. Spector gained fame for using a "wall of sound" effect for 1960s pop recordings. He produced 'Let It Be' for the Beatles and records for Elvis Presley, the Righteous Brothers and The Ramones. Spector also produced classic hits including the Crystals' 'Da Doo Ron Ron' and 'Be My Baby', by the Ronettes.
