Sot Christina Aguilera - On calling people to ask for samples for new album - "I don't think you know, take Eminem for example, he had any real hatred towards me, he just thought that obviously I had dissed him in an interview or something, which I haven't done. And you know he reacted, and how does he react but make a record about it you know, put it in his rap. And I actually got a chance to talk at the VMA's and clear things up; it's all a good energy kind of thing and the purpose for even having all the interlude for all this stuff was that it kind of set up myself to have an answer to not anyone in particular but just all the hype and rumours and gossip in a way." 10. Clip Video - 'Dirrty', Christina Aguilera 11. Sot Christina Aguilera - On why the album took so long to record - "A lot of personal things came up along the way, that prohibited me from finishing it sooner than I wanted to, just personal things kind of that everyone goes through, but the deadlines and being in this business, being in the spotlight it's harder sometimes going through them, being in the public eye. So I had to just take a break for a minute here and there, and breathe a bit. But in the end, I think you know, a lot of hard times that I had gone through even while making the record, gave me a place to come from, more with emotion, and get in out on the record. So it worked out. Everything happens for a reason." 12. Clip Video - 'Dirrty', Christina Aguilera 13. Sot - Christina Aguilera - (having trouble talking) - "I'm sorry, I'm having a rough time, not feeling very well. 'Stripped' is a very personal record to me." 14. Clip Video - 'Dirrty', Christina Aguilera CHRISTINA AGUILERA TALKS "DIRRTY" When Christina Aguilera burst onto the pop scene in 1999, she was following in the wake of the first teen pop queen Britney Spears. But she proved herself when she had two number one hits in a row and beat sure-thing Britney to the Grammy award for Best New Artist. But now Christina seems to have taken a leaf out of Britney's book again with her latest offering, the sexually charged new single 'Dirrty'. Similarly to Britney's 'Slave 4 U' video, 'Dirrty' shows Christina writhing around with other semi naked bodies scantily clad in a bra top and leather trousers. But this time Christina has gone one better by making her trousers crotchless revealing her tiny red knickers underneath. When asked what the video is about she said "Turning 21, doing what any other 21 year old would do is go out and party and have fun." Her changed look also includes black streaks and braids in her blond hair, and piercings in her nose and underneath her lip, among other places. 'Dirty' is the first single from her latest album 'Stripped' which was released on 28th October. Instead of cheerful, pleasing pop tunes, the new disc has brooding ballads, introspective songs and hip-hop collaborations with Redman and Lil' Kim and Aguilera has co-wrote most of the songs. The change of image and sound wasn't something that her record company was that willing to accommodate and took some convincing on her part. "I had to fight pretty hard, I mean definitely the label could have been happy with another pop, really super driven, that way record, and you know it's playing the safe route and where to go; but I really don't like playing it safe, I am an individual and I don't like to go that route." Aguilera had been hoping for even bigger numbers from 'Stripped', considering it's part of her move to a more adult sound and it's her first proper studio album since her 1999 self-titled debut, which opened at number one. Her album didn't match up to the sales of Britney Spears whose 'Britney' sold 750,000 in its first week last year and it was also beaten to the number one slot in the album charts by Eminem's movie soundtrack to '8 Mile'. Aside from their chart battle the relationship between Eminem and Christina seems to have been patched up after she showed up last week for the premiere of his latest film '8 Mile. When asked about the situation she said, "He had any real hatred towards me, he just thought that obviously I had dissed him in an interview or something, which I haven't done. And you know he reacted, and how does he react but make a record about it you know, put it in his rap. And I actually got a chance to talk at the VMA's and clear things up."
