WS poster of book cover TAYLOR'S LEGENDARY GEMS GO NO DISPLAY Elizabeth Taylor has teamed up with Christie's to host the first-ever public exhibition of jewellery from her own private collection. Miss Taylor has personally selected over 30 pieces from her own collection for the exhibit. To celebrate the opening of the exhibition, In Style magazine will be hosting an auction on Thursday (Sept 26th). The auction will benefit The Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation. In addition to the exhibit and the auction, Christie's Chairman Francois Curiel will be on hand with Miss Taylor to launch the book: 'Elizabeth Taylor: My Love Affair with Jewellery.' Curiel has written the introduction to the book. The showcase item of Thursday's upcoming auction is said to be the emerald and diamond cluster ring of 7.40 carats surrounded by twelve pear-shaped diamonds of 5.30 carats. The ring was a love token to Miss Taylor from the late actor Richard Burton. In addition to the famed ring, eight of the world's most renowned jewellery houses each have created an exquisite piece to be sold in the auction. Francois Curiel will be joined by Miss Taylor on Thursday for the sale of the nine items. Miss Taylor founded ETAF in 1991 and has raised over $8 million for support services for people with HIV/AIDS and for AIDS prevention education.
