I love collaborating first of all, especially with artists who I think would be fun and like admire their music like, that would be fun to work with little Kim, something new, something different, Missy Misdemeanor Elliot who I think is extremely talented, Mya, Pink, it was so fun, it really really was, to be working with a bunch of females and getting in the studio. and making that video was really, really fun too with all that kind of imitating kind of like the movie, trying to be a part of that whole thing, the show jewelry and the lingerie, it was so much fun." Interscope 17. Music clip APTN 18. SOT Christina Aguilera: "Well I am actually spending some time in LA, in one place for a minute, writing my next album and wanting to really dig and take my time with it. it has been a while since I've had a second, I haven't had a seconds album yet. I did the Latin album and my Christmas album was for other side projects all within themselves, but I'm really excited to be writing my next album, collaborating with other people and going to a different place with it, going to a more personal place." Interscope 19. Music clip 'Lady Marmalade' LIFE HOTS UP FOR CHRISTINA AGUILERA ======================================== Latin teen star CHRISTINA AGUILERA is having a bumper year. Not only has she had a hit with her duet 'Nobody Wants to be Lonely' with Ricky Martin, she's got another single soaring up the US charts. The reworked 'Lady Marmalade' is another collaboration, this time with some of pop's finest females. And to top it all, she's just been named World's Best Selling Latin Female Artist at the World Music Awards in Monaco. The singer arrived at last week's awards ceremony with her boyfriend, and once inside performed with Ricky Martin for the celebrity heavy audience. The song has won her some notable fans - singer Anastacia among them - as well as lifelong support from her singing partner. Ricky Martin is quick to enthuse about her talent, saying he expects her to be talked about for many years to come. It's a view backed by many - the world music awards are based on sales, with trophies going to top selling recording artists from around the world by genre and by nationality. Christina was thrilled to receive hers, remembering how producers she worked with before she released a note would talk about the Monaco based prize as the award of awards. The event also gave the singer a chance to meet Prince Albert of Monaco. While the star admits she has mixed with royalty before, she claims Prince Albert is 'the coolest'. Aguilera's latest single sees her teaming up with Missy Elliot, Pink, and Lil' Kim, for a raunchy version of Patti Labelle's 'Lady Marmalade'. The song is part of the soundtrack for the Nicole Kidman movie 'Moulin Rouge' and features the singers imitating her 19th century courtesan character by wearing lingerie and show jewellery. It's all a long way from her early days as a 12 year old on the Mickey Mouse Club alongside fellow future stars Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake of 'NSYNC. At 14 she moved to Japan to record 'All I Wanna Do', a hit duet with local pop star Keizo Nakanishi. 1998 saw her back in America recording 'Reflection' for the soundtrack of Disney's full length animation Mulan. Shortly afterwards she was snapped up by RCA, and her debut album 'Christina Aguilera' hit the shops. That first long player was recorded with a host of leading songwriters and producers, and entered the US album chart at number one, following her assault on the US singles chart with 'Genie In A Bottle', which after 5 weeks at the top became the biggest selling US single of the year. She followed that success with another number one single in January 2000, 'What A Girl Wants', and another in October with 'Come On Over Baby (All I Want Is You)'. And her future career shows no signs of letting up - the star is heading back into a Los Angeles studio to record her next album. While there has been a Christina Aguilera Latin album 'Mi Reflejo' and a Christina Aguilera christmas album 'My Kind Of Christmas' the singer considers her new project to be the first real follow up to her debut collection Aguilera is eager to get going on her new material, saying the album will take her to a more personal place. And the rest of the world's invited.
