The submarine equipped with Tomahawk cruise missiles. The Prime Minister of Japan, Yoshiro Mori, has said the United States has admitted responsibility for the accident and apologized. Meanwhile Amateur video has been released of the Japanese students boarding the boat which on Friday collided with a U-S nuclear submarine off the coast of Hawaii. VOICE OVER: 0002 The U-S-S Greeneville was on routine patrol south of Oahu when it surfaced. Its stern collided with the Japanese fishing vessel. 0012 It was exactly one month ago that thirteen high school students and two teachers from the Uwajima Fisheries High school, waved joyously to friends and family seeing them off on their journey. 0025 The 499-ton ship left on January 10th to hunt for tuna, swordfish and shark. 0031 Twenty other people were also on board. When the U-S sub struck the fishing vessel twenty six of those aboard were rescued. Still missing are four students, two teachers and three crew members. 0042 In Uwajima, town officials said they were trying to coordinate a response to the accident. 0048 Meanwhile family and friends gathered at the high school desperate to find out more information. 0054 UPSOUND 2 secs 0057 There was a flash on the television about the ship says this relative, I called the school straight away but there was great confusion. 0107 A spokesman for the US Pacific Fleet has promised a full investigation into the reasons for the crash.
