Police found Jonathan Carter's body inside a deserted house on Monday. A bomb was also discovered inside the nineteen-year-old's abandoned car. The teen gunman, allegedly responsible for two deaths in Miami last weekend, has been found dead. Police discovered Jonathan Carter's body in a disused house close to the sites of the shootings. Carter turned the gun on himself after allegedly shooting two others in a bloody 12-hour rampage over Christmas weekend. Members of Carter's family are refusing to talk, too stunned by the tragedy. Police believe the attacks could have been motivated by holiday depression. The mother of Gladys Dixon, one of the victims, said it would be a long time before she could come to terms with the gruesome events of the holiday weekend. SOUNDBITE: (English) "How could anyone shoot an innocent person? I ran over a cat twenty years ago and I am still having problems with that." SUPER CAPTION: Mrs Dixon, Mother of Gladys Dixon, Carter's second victim Police say it all started Sunday afternoon at the home of a Miami minister, Pastor Keith Blakely. The minister was standing in the front yard when Carter allegedly walked past him, knocked on the front door, entered the house and opened fire. The minister's daughter, Angela, escaped out a back door but Blakely himself was killed when he rushed into the house. The girl's 78-year-old grandparents, visiting from Texas, were wounded. Police say Angela who had not seen Carter for more than a year, had refused to date the gunman. SOUNDBITE: (English) "I think it is senseless, I think it is unnecessary and I think that even though people do things that are senseless, God knows." SUPER CAPTION: Diane Torres, friend of victim Reverend Keith Blakely After killing Blakely, it is alleged Carter then went to the home of a former friend, Gladys Dixon, and fatally shot her. Later that night, he allegedly opened fire at a county jail, wounding an officer, Kimberley Richardson in the hand and buttocks. But Carter's body was found the next day, in the bathtub of a house not far from the jail. He had shot himself in the head. SHOTLIST: Miami, Florida, USA, December 28, 1999 XFA 1.
