The Prince's son and heir, PRINCE ALBERT, and his daughter, PRINCESS STEPHANIE, also attended the gala at the Monte Carlo Sporting Club. Prince Rainier's eldest daughter, Princess Caroline, was not present, having recently given birth to a baby girl with her new husband Prince Ernst of Hanover. A host of celebrities attended the charity event held by the Grimaldi family at Monte Carlo's exclusive Sporting Club. As guests arrived they were met with a battery of society photographers clamouring for pictures. The event was the place to be seen on Friday night. But behind the glitz and glamour was a more serious purpose to raise money for the Red Cross. During the gala, guests were treated to a performance of an extract from the latest musical to take Paris by storm, Notre Dame de Paris. The musical's composers, Luc Plamandon and Richard Cocciante, were among the audience. A spectacular firework display followed. Princess Stephanie and Prince Albert then lead guests on to the dance floor, as the evening drew to a close.
