Description: | B W 1951 Biblical drama, one of a series of religious films based on the Old Testament story of Joseph, from Genesis, Chapter 39. Having been sold into slavery by his brothers, Joseph is bought by a kindly Egyptian nobleman, Potiphar. Joseph is quickly promoted to overseer of Potiphar's household, but faces a moral dilemma when he attracts the affections of two noblewomen. There's not much action, but the bad acting and clumsy direction are campy and amusing the actor playing Joseph stumbles over his lines throughout, and his goofy Prince Valiant hairdo doesn't help. With Robert Knapp, LLoyd Evans, Patricia Walters, Aline Towne directed by Alfred Frantz Stury.00:49:24:00 B W 1951 ws Street scene, ancient Egypt people in town square.00:49:47:00 B W 1951 ms Slave, bare-chested and wearing head cloth, sits slumped against wall and shakes his chains in disgust then he speaks a plea to God for strength.00:52:36:00 B W 1951 ms Slave market: two robed men examine slave in loincloth, bargain for him.00:57:38:00 B W 1951 ws Slavery in ancient Egypt: slaves toil in brickyard while robed overseer whips and shoves them.00:58:26:00 B W 1951 ws Similar, two slaves making bricks |
