File Number: | VTM-3CV Beta SP |

Type: | Documentary |
Year: | 1913 |
Description: | B W 1913 Silent film footage of American Indians, in two parts. The first section documents a series of formal ceremonies in which government officials supervise as Indian chiefs sign a declaration of allegiance to the United States government and participate in a flag-raising. It's rather dry and repetitive, but there are brief images of President Taft, and many Indian figures of the 1910's are identified by name (see text below). The second section is documentary raw footage, apparently showing the activities of an Indian tribe in a village in winter see below for fuller description. Good crisp cinematography throughout.00:14:00:00 B W 1913 [FIRST SECTION. Various formal ceremonies. Complete text follows.] "INAUGURATING THE NATIONAL AMERICAN INDIAN MEMORIAL. February 22, 1913.
