Gaza: Jordanian Armed Forces delivers relief aid for 2 churches
Jordan's military conducted an aerial mission on Christmas Eve, delivering humanitarian and food supplies to Gazans sheltered inside two churches, according to a statement published on the official website of the Jordanian Armed Forces on Sunday
“Under royal directives, the Jordanian Armed Forces - the Arab Army carried out this Sunday evening a relief airdrop to help those besieged inside the Church of St Porphyrius, located in the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in the northern Gaza Strip, on Christmas Eve,” the statement said
The Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi announced on X that another aid drop was successfully delivered to the Holy Family Parish in Gaza
“On this Christmas Eve, Jordanian Royal Air Force air-dropped supplies to over 500 Palestinian Christians besieged by Israel at the Holy Family Parish in Gaza,” Safadi said on X
Video obtained by CNN in October from Gaza City displayed the damage at St Porphyrius Greek Orthodox Church compound and its surrounding area following an Israeli airstrike
Last week, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem reported that an Israeli military sniper shot and killed two women sheltering inside the Holy Family Parish in Gaza However, Israeli military officials have denied responsibility for the deaths, stating that their fire was directed towards three individuals they identified as spotters for Hamas in the same area
