LEAD: It's hard enough buying gifts for friends and relatives... Fluffy & Muffy are an entirely different story. Here's ideas on the best gifts yet, for your loyal fluffy best friends. As Christine Buck reports, people are buying everything from the ordinary to the exotic for their pets. SCRIPT: 'Twas three-days before Christmas and through various towns, people were buying presents for their cats and their hounds? SOT: "We do spoil the dog, a lot of people do." That's true, a lot of people do... just look at the things that are offered to you. There are bones galore and comfy beds to lay on the floor. SOT: "They go crazy for rawhide, stockings, and all kinds of toys." There are holiday themed-snacks for your pet to eat. And spa treatments for their poor, tired feet. And, if your dog is eating too much food, there are low-cal treats that won't alter their mood. SOT: "There's even cat nip that looks like a mother-in-law with her disapproving stare. You can watch your cat eat it and toss her into the air." And whatever we humans seem to enjoy, are also hot items for your pets little toy. Like beanie babies for dogs and cats, and warm winter sweaters and leather hats. SOT: "Our customers see their pets as part of their family, this is an extra gift for that part of the family." And it's not just dogs or cats that are popular pets... people buy for their ferret or spoil their parrot. Whatever the family pet is, it's apparent many people treat them as kids. They're like royalty and it doesn't matter what anyone thinks about man's best freind. SOT: "They're spoiled and I'd do it again and again." sig-out.
