The chase goes on for some thirty minutes--ending after the car leaves the road, and crashes into a traffic light. Earlier, troopers say the driver tried to run over a sheriff's deputy directing traffic. The driver, 17-year-old Francisco Estala, is facing attempted capital murder charges. The other three teens in the car were also taken to jail. SCRIPT: The 30-minute long high-speed chase ends here at Vance Jackson and Callaghan, but only after the stolen car that state troopers are chasing crashes into a traffic light, disabling the car.SOT Inside the wrecked car, three teenaged boys, one teenaged girl. Two of them in school uniforms. Fear and panic, officers say, foiled their plans to ditch school. Fear that the officer directing traffic would discover they were in a stolen car.SOT After the driver ignores a sheriff's deputy's order to come to a complete stop. Now the driver, 17-year-old Francisco Estala is charged with attempted capital murder. The three other teens taken to jail too. Ironically, Smith had been back on the this job directing traffic in in front of the Cornerstone Christian School for only two weeks.
