Moraine, Ohio
Night video of strikers, picket signs, workers at fire barrel, semi-rig stopped from entering plant by strikers.
About 4,300 workers have walked out on strike at a General Motors plant in Moraine, Ohio ... near Dayton. (TAKE VIDEO) Officials of the International Union of Electrical Workers have not said specifically what their demands are ... but reports indicate the matter deals with proposed changes in absontee rules and a number of grievances with GM. I-U-E members narrowly rejected a contract offer saturday night ... and walked out. A union leader said early today that both sides were close to a settlement ... but workers were picketing the plant early this morning ... preventing cars and semi-rigs from entering the facility. The General Motors plant involved is near Dayton, Ohio ... and produces several models of four-wheeler trucks ... including the Chevrolet Blazer, G-M-C Jimmy and Oldsmobile Bravada. G-M officials say they have stepped up production at other plants, to offset any delays created by the strike. --- END ---
