A twister ripped through northern Georgia this morning leaving a 10-mile path of destruction. Five counties have been declared disaster areas. Eleven people were killed, at least 80-injured, mostly from being hit by flying debris. When the tornado moved on, 12-thousand people were left without power.
LEAD: At least 11 people are dead and more than 80 are injured after a tornado slashed a 10 mile swath through northern Georgia. In the town of Clermont, a 12-year-old girl and her 51-year-old grandfather died when their mobile home was thrown into a pond. Rich Blalock reports.
