OWL IN A TOWEL; OWL BEING HELD - AS PEOPLE EXPLAIN HOW OWLS BEHAVE; MALE SOT; MALE SOT - EXPLAINING HOW THEY ARE ABOUT TO OPEN BOX OWL IS IN; OPENING BOX AND OWL LEAVES IMMEDIATELY AND FLIES UP TO TREE THEN FLYING OFF TO ANOTHER TREE;
AN INJURED OWL IS NURSED BACK TO HEALTH AND RELEASED INTO THE WILD.
LEAD: HER WING WAS INJURED THREE MONTHS AGO, BUT NOW, SHE'S BEEN NURSED BACK TO HEALTH... AND SHE'S READY TO GO BACK INTO THE WILD. (VO) THREE MONTHS AGO, THE CONVERSE ANIMAL SHELTER FOUND THIS BARN OWL WITH A DISLOCATED SHOULDER. SINCE THEN, THE OWL HAS BEEN GOING THROUGH REHAB AND AFTER MUCH MUSCLE MASSAGE AND MEDICAL TREATMENT, SHE'S READY TO GO. (SOT) VOLUNTEERS CARRIED THE OWL TO A GRASSY AREA AND OPENED THE BOX... SHE LOST LITTLE TIME FLYING TO A NEARBY TREE. BARN OWLS ARE ACTUALLY FAIRLY COMMON IN THE SAN ANTONIO, TEXAS AREA. THIS FEMALE IS NOW FREE TO FLY THROUGH THE SKIES AND HURT FOR HER FAVORITE FOOD...
