Script U.S ARMY TANKERS AT FORT HOOD ARE STEPPING UP TRAINING IN PREPARATION FOR MILITARY ACTION. THE HUGE CENTRAL TEXAS MILITARY POST IS HOME TO THE FIRST CAVALRY DIVISION, ONE OF THE ARMY'S MAIN HEAVY TANK UNITS. THE DIVISION FOUGHT IN DESERT STORM AND EQUIPPED WITH THE ABRAMS MAIN BATTLE TANK. NO WORD HAS COME YET AS TO WHEN OR WHERE FORT HOOD UNITS WILL BE DEPLOYED. THE SECRETARY OF THE ARMY HAS SAID U.S. FORCES ARE PREPARED TO CONDUCT SUSTAINED LAND COMBAT OPERATIONS.
