The President hosted an event to highlight American humanitarian efforts in Afghanistan and to call for continued support of Afghanistan and the Afghan people. The event took place on the one year anniversary of the President's establishment of America's Fund for Afghan Children and recognized the efforts of American schoolchildren in aiding the children of Afghanistan.

We'd like to get disease and hunger gone as well. 00:34 More than 2 million Afghan refugees 00:38 have returned back to the country since November 00:42 as a positive sign. 00:45 It's a good sign that people sensing their country as a better place to live and more secure, better place to raise a family. 00:54 America's fund for Afghan children has collected more than 10 and a half million dollars. 01:00 That's a dime at a time or $1 at a time, that's a lot of kids working hard to collect money. It's allowed the Red Cross to deliver emergency medical supplies to help serve 60,000 people. 01:12 This fund has helped provide winter clothes to 8000 children, 01:17 to help rehabilitate hospitals in Kabul. 01:21 Freedom is a chance for people to get good health care.
