The next generation Sony Playstation is being demonstrated this weekend at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. They've gone from the underdog to the top dog in four short years. And now Sony is introducing its next generation D-V-D Playstation at the world's largest trade show for video games. In a surprise move by Sony Entertainment, the video game giant unveiled their next generation playstation this week at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles. Gamers were able to check out the new technology, but they will have to wait until the fall of 2000 before they can bring one home. The video game industry has grown into 6-billion dollar industry. One in six households owns a playstation. Making the product Sony's fastest selling in its 50 year history. The Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) opened today and is the world's largest trade show for the 6.3 billion dollar interactive entertainment software industry in the Los Angeles Convention Center. E3 is where the latest technology in the never-before-seen electronic computer, video games, and education software is debuted.
