dash cam video from Portage County. That's where authorities say a woman led them on a high speed chase on March 15. Court documents show Shirley Hogrefe admitted to driving the wrong way on purpose. At times, giving other cars she passed a "thumbs up". Those records reveal she told authorities she did not want to live anymore. A terrifying situation unfolds on a Portage County interstate. In dash cam video from the Portage County Sheriff's Department, you can see an officer pulled over, facing south of I-39. That's when a car flies by, going the wrong direction. Officials say 62-year-old Shirley Hogrefe was in a white Dodge Dynasty, driving the wrong direction on the interstate. The chase lasted for several minutes, as multiple squad cars followed Hogrefe. Court documents say she admitted to drinking too much, and that she no longer wanted to live. Officials say the chase ended after Hogrefe hit multiple cars. They say none of those drivers was seriously injured. This is not the first time Hogrefe has been in this situation. She is currently facing four charges, including her fifth OWI. The District Attorney's office says there are multiple 911 calls from people that say Hogrefe passed them. An assistant DA says those are part of the investigation and they are not being released at this time. Hogrefe is currently being held in the Portage County jail on a $25,000 cash bond. Her attorney did not wish to comment. Hogrefe is scheduled to appear in court next month.
