HER OWNER, STEVEN COOK, CALLED THE SPCA FOR HELP AROUND 11 AM. THEY IN TURN, ENLISTED THE HELP OF THE LA COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT. AROUND FOUR IN THE AFTERNOON, RESCUERS POURED LUBRICANT ON PRINCESS, HOPING TO PULL HER FREE WITH A ROPE. BUT PRINCESS COULD NOT BE BUDGED. A SPECIAL URBAN SEARCH AND RESCUE TEAM TRAINED TO FREE TRAPPED HUMANS, MOVED IN. THEY CUT HOLES INTO THE WALLS, AND AFTER MUCH EFFORT A FRIGHTENED PRINCESS WAS PULLED TO FREEDOM AROUND TEN O’ CLOCK AFTER A MUCH APPRECIATED DRINK OF WATER, PRINCESS WAS WHISKED AWAY TO AN EMERGENCY VETERINARY CLINIC WHERE SHE WAS PRONOUNCED IN REMARKABLE GOOD CONDITION DESPITE HER ORDEAL. COOK SAYS THE RESCUE HAS RE-AFFIRMMED HIS FAITH IN PEOPLE. KNOWING THAT THERE ARE OTHERS WHO GENUINELY CARE FOR HUMAN BEINGS, AND ANIMALS
