Post punk rocker and electronic music pioneer, Moby (Richard Melville Hall), performs live at an outdoor venue in Connecticut - 1999 Filmed on a hand held camera by an amateur photographer MOBY LOLLAPALOOZA 1995 Meadows Music Theater, Hartford, CT, USA JULY 26 We start on the bus with MOBY's manager Marci Webber watches TV about Micheal Jackson It is raining like crazy and foggy and my lens gets foggy outside/backstage The band prepares to go on 3/4 AUDIO OF THE PERFORMANCE IS BAD BUT THE VIDEO IS GREAT! Ali Mcmordie Dean Scott Frassetto Jon sound guy A DOWNPOUR delays the performance and the band waits onstage behind a curtain as the crowd is drenched The crown chants MOBY MOBY MOBY but the rain is too hard to start the show Everyone waits Moby is hopeful that it will stop in a second The stagemanager puts plastic over everything All the equipment is covered in plastic Everyone waits The crowd cheers as they listen to Jungle Music The rain slows Plastic sheets are removed as the sun comes back But the crowd is in mud Moby asks if I have an extra battery because I've been filming backstage so long without a performance The crown is excited and anxious to hear him Scott practices drumming on an amplifier Moby is now somehow COVERED IN MUD and the show is about to go on Ali tunes his bass The crowd is soaked Moby comes on and the crowd goes wild WE LOVE YOU He talks about going to school and UCONN STORRS He hated it HE PLAYS and the audience LOVES it they are soaked The audience requests SWEET HOME ALABAMA Moby intros the band Dean Ali Scott A girl in lil dreds wrapped in police tape says she'll marry the drummer Scott, Her name is Dianna, Moby marries them in an interesting mock ceremony (good audio) Moby tells the crowd about being no good at sports and buy trophies to look like he was good at sports (good audio) This next song is pretty hard so you can destroy things if you want Audio is better now--the audience covered in mud dances like crazy FEELING SO REAL Moby intros the song WHAT LOVE by saying that it was written about me who looks like a treasure troll and that I love anal sex, and the second part is about despairing about life and wanting to kill yourself The last song is PURPLE RAIN with Moby and band but sung by Carla Bozulich GERALDINE FIBBERS audio is good Kids crowd surf and the beauty of youth is shown and the song ends in a pure power punk jam Carla kisses moby on the cheek that's all the songs we know, so everyone go see Hole, they're pretty good and Courtney takes off her clothes
