"Every conceivable device for achieving the highest speed attained by man on the earth had been incorporated in this scientifically-designed and expertly-built all-British car -" Man climbs into the driver's seat. Small Sunbeam car - or perhaps a motorised tricycle - is driven and parked close to the "Mystery S" "Then into the big case for her trip to Daytona Beach, Florida, for that epoch-making attempt." Men push the car into the transport case. The car arrives in Florida. Men and women mill around the travelling case. The car is "christened" in true Daytona fashion - a girl in a swimsuit stands on the tractor pulling the case which contains the car and smashes a bottle over a corner of the case. It takes her a few attempts. She shakes hands with the driver. The car moves off, crowds follow it. Men push it towards the beach, cars follow it. This car was the first in the world to pass the 200 miles per hour speed record. Aerial shots of the car speeding along the beach during a test run. Major Segrave is the driver of the car.
01:28:03 - The car is towed to the starting line. Panning shot of spectators' cars and crowds watching the record attempt. Shot of the official timekeepers. The engine is started. The car sets off.
