Man in suit holds up model of the car to the camera. "the length of "Mystery S" (as the car was christened) was 24 feet, and many months of intricate research work lay behind her queer shape -" Top shot of men crowded around the car. Men push the car out of shot. "Every conceivable device for achieving the highest speed attained by man on the earth had been incorporated in this scientifically-designed and expertly-built all-British car -" Man climbs into the driver's seat. C/U of the driver. L/S of car driving towards the camera outside the factory. Men line the route. The car passes the camera.

01:25:03 - "The search for the ultimate - Contrast the midget of 1901 and the monster of 1927." Small Sunbeam car - or perhaps a motorised tricycle - is driven and parked close to the "Mystery S" "Then into the big case for her trip to Daytona Beach, Florida, for that epoch-making attempt." Men push the car into the transport case. The car arrives in Florida. Men and women mill around the travelling case. The car is "christened" in true Daytona fashion - a girl in a swimsuit stands on the tractor pulling the case which contains the car and smashes a bottle over a corner of the case. It takes her a few attempts. She shakes hands with the driver. The car moves off, crowds follow it. Men push it towards the beach, cars follow it. This car was the first in the world to pass the 200 miles per hour speed record. Aerial shots of the car speeding along the beach during a test run. Major Segrave is the driver of the car.

01:28:03 - The car is towed to the starting line. Panning shot of spectators' cars and crowds watching the record attempt. Shot of the official timekeepers. The engine is started. The car sets off. Shots of the car passing spectators. Aerial shot of the Mystery S speeding along. Shot of the car passing spectators' cars. C/U of the timekeepers. Aerial shot of the speeding car. End of the race - men shake hands with the driver. One man kisses the driver, another hugs him. Timekeeper shows the driver the proof that he has broken the speed record. Other men crowded around wave to the camera in jubilation. "Well done, Major!" C/U of the driver laughing. C/U of the Union Jack - fills the screen.
