Drone view of the wreck of a Lockheed 18-56 Lodestar on Palyrma Atoll, in the Pacific Ocean. This plane crashed during a flight from Honolulu, Hawaii, on 5th January 1980. It hits trees in a crosswind during landing. Both crew members and all seven passengers survived. Its wreck has since become overgrown with foliage. Palmyra Atoll was the site of a US airbase in WWII, but it was abandoned and the site is now studied to monitor the recovery of the ecosystem.
