Senator Graham press comment on limiting social media immunity duration, defense bill veto threat
Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham of South Carolina is asked outside a Committee meeting whether he is working with President Donald Trump about Section 230 or get them to not veto the National Defense Authorization Act, Graham answering he did not know if Trump would veto the NDAA but wanted to take Section 230 off the table, Democrats and Republicans were all yelling about the abuse of unregulated big Tech not being sued for taking down content nor recourse, the only business in America he knew of not regulated in any meaningful sense, so his bill would put Section 230 on the clock having been around since 1996 with the purpose of getting the Internet up and running, but it had since been abused, so in two years from January 2021 to make Section 230 expire and give Congress two years to find a way to reform or replace it or it would die.
