Victim of the Olympic park bombing reacts to the FBI clearing Richard Jewell.

In Centennial Park in Atlanta, a pipe bomb suddenly goes off at a concert during the 1996 summer Olympic games. The bombing resulted in one immediate fatality and over 100 injuries as the explosion releases nails and screws into the air. At a nearby facility, a German television journalist interviews American swimmer Janet Evans. At the sound of the explosion, they express shock and run for cover. A man checks his wife to see if she is injured. An eyewitness describes what he saw to a reporter and another attendee makes a panicked call to her family on a cell phone. Police and emergency teams rush in for reinforcements and to help the injured. In Washington, President Clinton condemns the bombing that took place in Centennial Park in Atlanta during the Olympic games as an "evil act of terrorism" and vows to bring the perpetrator to justice. In Atlanta, a law enforcement official relates the device went off as security was trying to clear the area. A representative from the International Olympic Committee declares with emphasis that the games will continue. Police close Centennial Park for a day to begin their investigations. It was two years ago that a bomb blast shattered the feeling of security at the Olympics. One person was killed, dozens injured. One survivor of the Centennial Olympic Park bombing says he is no longer angry, but still wants the person responsible caught.

The judge in Richard Jewell's libel lawsuit says reporters for the Atlanta-Journal Constitution must reveal their sources. The Fulton County judge says the reporters must name the people who gave them information that they published in articles about the former Olympic security guard and the Centennial Park bombing.
