Ol Pejeta Conservancy protects chimpanzees threatened by hunting and trafficking in Kenya
LAIKIPIA, KENYA - SEPTEMBER 8: Chimpanzees threatened with extinction by hunting and the pet trade continue to live in conservancy at Ol Pejeta in the Nanyuki region of Laikipia Province, Kenya.
The Ol Pejeta conservancy is home to around 50 chimpanzees rescued from Kenya and other African countries.
Other rare animals found at Ol Pejeta include the endangered African wild dog, Oryx, Jackson's hartebeest, Grevy's zebra, serval, cheetah and bat-eared fox. The more common African animals can also be found, including giraffe, vervet monkey, baboon, chimpanzee, hippo, impala, eland, Grant's gazelle, dik-dik, plains zebra, silver-backed jackal and hyena.
