PORTLAND POLICE SAY THEY WILL PROBABLY CHARGE 24-YEAR-OLD JAMES RINCKER WITH ATTEMPTED MURDER AND ASSAULT AFTER HE ALLEGEDLY HELD SEVERAL HOSTAGES IN AN OFFICE TOWER AND SHOT TWO PEOPLE IN A PARKING GARAGE. AFTER ABOUT A FOUR HOUR STANDOFF, RINCKER SURRENDERED. HE WAS HANDCUFFED AND PLACED IN A POLICE CAR. RINCKER WAS FIRED FROM HIS DELIVERY JOB AT A COMPANY IN THE KOIN OFFICE TOWER FOR ALLEGED PROBLEMS WITH FEMALE EMPLOYEES. POLICE SAY RINCKER WAS UPSET BECAUSE OF THE LOSS OF HIS JOB. POLICE LT. C.W. JENSEN SAYS, "HE WAS ANGRY AT THESE WOMEN AND DECIDED HE WAS GOING TO GO THERE AND SHOOT THEM." ONE MAN WAS SHOT TWICE IN THE BACK AND ANOTHER WAS SHOT THREE OR FOUR TIMES IN THE LEG. THE MEN ARE LISTED IN FAIR CONDITION AT A UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.
