Ryce Trial/Jury Selection (08/24/1998)
Jury selection gets underway in Orlando today in the trial of Juan Carlos Chavez, the man accused of abducting, sodomizing, killing and dismembering little Jimmy Ryce three years ago. Chavez' trial was moved to Orlando because of heavy news coverage of the story in Miami, where the crime happened. A gag order is in effect. The state's case against Chavez is bolstered by a 12-page document authorities say is a confession.
