President Kennedy at Apollo programme briefing. Footage of a 1963 briefing on the Apollo manned lunar landing programme, attended by US President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963). Kennedy is shown at timestamp 0:10. The briefing is taking place in an underground launch control centre at the NASA facilities at Merrit Island, near Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA. The briefing was given by NASA manager George Mueller. Those present in the front row are: George Low, Kurt Debus, Robert Seamans, James Webb, President Kennedy, Hugh Dryden, Wernher von Braun, General Leighton Davis, and a presidential aide. This footage is from the Presidential tour by Kennedy that took place here on 16 November 1963. This was Kennedy's third visit to Cape Canaveral, taking place a week before his assassination. The site was renamed the Kennedy Space Center in his honour on 29 November 1963.

President Kennedy viewing Saturn V rocket. Footage of US President John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) during the Saturn V part of his tour of NASA facilities at Merrit Island, near Cape Canaveral, Florida, USA, on 16 November 1963. Kennedy was accompanied by German-US aerospace engineer Wernher von Braun, the lead designer of the rocket. The Saturn V rocket was used in the Apollo programme to reach the Moon. During this tour, Kennedy was also briefed on the Gemini programme and took an aerial tour of the facility. This was Kennedy's third visit to Cape Canaveral, taking place a week before his assassination. The site was renamed the Kennedy Space Center in his honour on 29 November 1963.
