Bob Hope, Honi Coles Fundraising show Bob Hope at age 76 visits Cavett in between a number of special events, including a tribute to Hope and an upcoming TV special taped at The London Palladium. Special surprise at the end of the show is Honi Coles, who is joined by Hope and Cavett dancing tap and soft shoe. Bob Hope, born Leslie Townes Hope (May 29, 1903 ? July 27, 2003), was an English-born American comedian, vaudevillian, actor, singer, dancer, author, and athlete who appeared on Broadway, in vaudeville, movies, television, and on the radio.

London "Carpetbaggers" personnel working at the London headquarters of United States Army Air Forces 8th Air Force. At Harrington field men load supplies on trucks for French resistance forces (Maquis, FFI). Men workout the daily packing schedule. Men pack guns, grenades, machine guns and other ammunitions. Special H containers and C containers for loading 303 ammunition. Boots, socks being packed. Gasoline Jerry cans being put in containers. Men place guns in containers. Instructions in French also placed with the supplies for the French resistance forces. Men pack explosives and radio sets. Medical supplies put in baskets. Harness and parachute shops in Holmes where men attach parachutes to containers. Packages being transported to airfield for dropping to the targets. A man on a telephone informs about the daily supplies to Special Forces headquarters in London. S-2, an intelligence officer forwards the list received from London. A man plots the target area on a map. In the weather room detailed map of the area is being prepared. Officers make a selection of the targets. S-2 informs the headquarters about the route of the planes. Supplies being loaded onto United States B-24 aircraft specially configured to carry and drop the containers using the bomb rack system in the aircraft. Flight crew is briefed before the operation. Chief Navigator talks about the course to be taken by the planes and the targets to be hit. Pilots work on a flight plan. Aircraft take off. An officer reports about the take off of the aircraft to the 8th Air Force headquarters. Location: United Kingdom. Date: 1945.

Baby gas mask, London, World War II. Baby being fitted with a specially designed gas mask in London during World War II (1939-1945). London had been targeted by bombers from Nazi Germany during the Blitz (September 1940 to May 1941), with air raids continuing throughout the war. Adults wore gas masks covering the face, while this one for babies was designed to enclose the whole body. The mother is operating the hand pump at right to provide a supply of air. White Russian emigres gathered at an Anglo Russian sports club in London, United Kingdom. A group of men and women relax and converse at the sports club. A waiter serves vodka to the the group. They sing a Russian song, accompanied by one of them who plays a guitar. Then one of them calls for a special (larger) drink, which the waiter brings on a tray. The man receiving the drink holds it while they begin to sing a particular song, to a woman in the group. She rises as the man with the drink bows low before her. She takes the drink and downs in one continuous swallow, as her companions urge her on, singing with increased tempo and shout when she finishes. She hands the empty glass back to the man, who kisses her hand. Scene shifts to the group deciding what to do next for the camera. Some drink more. The guitar player sings and plays and others join in. Closeup of the waiter standing with a woman who drinks down the contents of a beverage can. The waiter enters and serves all again, with glasses of vodka. The party continues with more singing. Location: London England United Kingdom. Date: 1937.
