KABC UCLA DETAINED UCLA BASKETBALL PLAYERS PRESSER (HD)
KABC FTG PRESSER FROM THE UCLA MEN'S BASKETBALL TEAM PLAYERS WHO WERE ARRESTED IN CHINA FOR SHOPLIFTING WHAT: UCLA Men's Basketball student-athletes LiAngelo Ball, Jalen Hill and Cody Riley are returning from China to Los Angeles at this time. They will share statements with the media on Wednesday morning at approximately 11:00 am in the Dick Enberg Media Room in Pauley Pavilion. Following the student-athletes, Head Men's Basketball Coach Steve Alford and Director of Athletics Dan Guerrero will provide remarks. The participants will not be taking any questions at this time. LA BNET1 UCLA BASKETBALL PRESSER KABC > With that being said, I take full responsibilities for the mistake that I make, 2:03:06 PM shoplifting. I know that this goes beyond me letting my school down but I let the entire country down. Before I thank everybody who worked so incredibly hard helping us returning home safely and I want to thank the Chinese government and the police for taking care of us. And to president trump and the United States government, thank you for taking the time to intervene on our behalf. We really appreciate you helping us out. Thank you to all the pac-12 representatives and for all your time and support. Thank you Dan Gerald for sticking by our side and thank you Chris Carlson for taking your time out of your schedule to stay with us your entire time and guide us every step of the way. To Doug Erickson, thank you for 2:04:06 PM staying with us. To my teammates, thank you for being there for us throughout the process. You guys mean so much to me. To all the coaches, coach grace, coach Rosales, you guys all believed in me, not as a basketball player but as a person. Lastly to my family and my mom and dad, you guys raised me to be smart and making the right choices. You never left my side. It hurts me the most that I disappointed and embarrassed you. To my younger brother, this is not the example that I want to set for you. But, from here on now, I promise to be the best role model I can be for you to look up to. I have been looking forward to be in UCLA since I was young and the alumni here. 2:05:10 PM I am disappointed that I failed to live up to that. I can only hope of my hard work and the weeks to come to prove to my coaches and teammates and fans that I am capable of meeting that high standard and away from the court. I will work especially hard in the classroom to show that I can be a representative of this incredible university, a place that's so important to so many people around the world. Again, thank you for everybody who has been there and express concerns for me and my safety. I can assure you that I will never do anything for you to jeopardize your UCLA reputation and my own. Thank you. >> I would like to start off by saying sorry for stealing at the store in China. 2:06:11 PM I did not exercise my best judgment and I was wrong for that. I apologize for everybody for letting people down and I apologize the people in China for causing so much trouble. I am a young man, it is not an excuse for making a stupid decision. I don't feel sorry about myself. I am 100% sure that I will not make a decision like this again. This did not define who I am. My family raised me better than that and I am going to make myself a better person from here on out. I have the upmost respect for the Chinese police department as well and I would like to thank them cheering me so respectfully even after I made a stupid decision. And I would like to thank Chris cross and Doug Ericson for 2:07:13 PM staying with us and helping us while we were in China and taking care of us. I am grateful for the UCLA team that stood strong besides us and made it possible for me to be here in front of y'all today. I respect all the hard work they put into get us back to the United States. And also I would like to thank president trump and the united States government for the help they provided as well. I am grateful to be back home and I will never make a mistake like this again. I am extremely sorry for those that I let down. I am thankful for all the help and love and support that they provided. I will take full responsibility for my action and I am sorry. Thank you. >> First off, I would like to apologize all the fans that supported UCLA. I felt like my actions have hurt them the most. 2:08:15 PM I think see the pain that I caused to my teammates and family because of how much negative attention that I put on them and they do not deserve this. What I did was stupid and I am not that type of person. I hope this mistake will not define me as a person. It shows that I am messed up. I don't want to be known for this dumb mistake. I want to be known for my love and passion for the game of basketball. This incident has changed me in a way that I cannot describe. I have so much more respect from the people around me from coaches and staffs and the fans of UCLA. I want to thank my relationship with god throughout this time and without him, I would be nothing. To all the fans watching, I hope that you can forgive me and I hope that you can forgive my stupid, childish action, I would like to thank everyone involved in this whole ordeal, thank you 2:09:16 PM to Chris, Doug, Gloria and Jerry for staying with us the whole time. Thank you for the police department who treated us very well and thank you to the pac-12 and the whole UCLA committee that helped us the whole way and thank you to the United States of government and president trump for the efforts of bringing us home.
CAMERA INTERVIEWS - M. DE GROOT
"Millions of listeners-in have heard with delight M. de Groot and his famous Piccadilly Orchestra, but only comparatively few have seen him playing. We found him at home practising..." M/S of de Groot in his drawing room wearing a dressing gown playing the violin. A young boy (his son presumably) sits and listens. De Groot walks as he plays then sits on the piano. <br/> <br/>"One problem is to deal with my ever increasing post", said M. de Groot, as his little boy brought another basketful." M/S of De Groot at a writing desk. He writes with a quill pen. His son walks in with a wire basket full of letters. De Groot takes out two large letters then his son tips the rest on the table. De Groot opens and reads one of the letters while his son sorts the rest into neat piles. <br/> <br/>"Although I have a number of violins, my favourite is one I secured over twenty years ago - " M/S of him playing the violin sitting on a low table. He picks up another violin and starts playing that, tuning it as he plays. "Every year my beloved violin grows sweeter in tone and though I'm sorry to spoil an illusion, it is not a "Strad!" (Normal and slow-motion views contrast the rapid fingering)." C/U of him playing. C/U of the violin, showing his fingering technique - slow motion footage. Wider shot of him playing in slow motion.

Ever since the Patriots barely beat us in week 17, I already knew we had enough confidence. So I was confident myself. I told my man here I’m not flamboyant, I’m just confident, and like I said, they proved it. The true champions, the new America’s team, New York Giants. I’m sorry Patriots fans, but we gotta do it.

Sunday night's game with the Baltimore Orioles was the finale for the famed Bronx ballpark that opened in April 1923. And the Yankees closed it out in style, beating Baltimore 7-3. Eighty-three-year-old Yankee legend Yogi Berra, who coined the phrase "it ain't over till it's over," put his own stamp on the day saying, "I'm sorry to see it over, I'll tell you that." Known as "The House That Ruth Built" after baseball legend Babe Ruth, the stadium underwent a major facelift in 1973, forcing the Yankees to play in New York's Shea Stadium temporarily until the two-year renovation project was complete. John Murphy attended the final game before the stadium shut down for refurbishing, and brought the ticket stub to Sunday night's game. "That is the ticket stub from the last game at the old Yankee stadium from 1973 when the original one, 'The House that Ruth Built' closed," Murphy said. "My dad took me to that game when I was 10 years old. And it was one the special times I had as a child with my father. I always remember this game, and now it even means more to me at the last game at this stadium." Fans and stadium workers alike have fond memories of the ballpark. "I had to work a day in the Yankee clubhouse cause the regular guy didn't show up," said Jerry Antonucci, a ticket taker who's worked at the stadium for 52 years. "So I brought my son with me. I shook hands with Mickey Mantle, Yogi Berra." A new 1.3 (b) billion US dollar Yankee Stadium opens across the street next year.

Various shots of French fans getting boarding bus STORYLINE Greece, a nation that had never won a game in a major tournament until beginning play in Portugal two weeks ago, stunned defending champion France 1-0 on Friday to reach the semifinals of Euro 2004. Thousands of Greek fans made the unexpected trip to Lisbon's 50,000-seat Alvalade Stadium and were certainly as raucous as the French backers. At the end of the game, when players were rolling on the grass dazed with joy, the Greek fans were the only ones left chanting. The bus carrying Greek players carried the slogan: "Ancient Greece had 12 Gods. Modern Greece has 11." Against a slow and sullen France, Greece always was a step ahead in the game and showed an eagerness the fading French veterans - already loaded with world and European trophies - didn't have. It continued an unlikely run that started two weeks ago when they stunned host nation Portugal 2-1 in the opening game. After shocking host Portugal, the Greeks came from behind to hold Spain to a 1-1 draw. All the team needed was a draw with the already eliminated Russians, who had lost both opening games to progress to the quarterfinals. Greece lost 2-1, but luckily squeezed into the final eight on the virtue of a higher goalscoring tally than Spain. Greece will play the winner of Sunday's quarterfinal between the Czech Republic and Denmark in the semifinal in Porto on Thursday. Greece made it to Euro 1980 and the 1994 World Cup, only to bow out miserably each time without a win.

Close of Blythe listening to sentence via interpreter 11. Cutaway of cameraman 12. Tracking shot of Blythe leaving court STORYLINE: A court in the Czech Republic has acquitted the lead singer of the US heavy metal band Lamb of God of causing a fan's death at a concert. Randy Blythe was charged in December with causing bodily harm to another person with lethal consequences. He was accused of pushing a 19-year-old male fan from the stage during a 2010 concert at Prague's Abaton club. The man hit the floor with his head and later died of a head injury. Prague's municipal court ruled on Tuesday that Blythe was not guilty because what he did was not a crime, a court spokeswoman said. Blythe, who had pleaded not guilty, acknowledged he pushed the teenager because the band doesn't tolerate any fans on the stage but said he was not aware of any injuries. He made statement to the court during which he seemed close to tears. "I am very sorry for your loss," he said. "Daniel was a fan of my band. I had no wish to harm him. He was just a boy. I wish he was still here." Prosecutors had demanded a five-year prison term for Blythe, who faced up to 10 years behind bars if found guilty. In its ruling, the court said it was the concert's organisers who are to blame for the accident, the spokeswoman said. The state prosecutors, who had demanded a five-year prison term for Blythe, said they will appeal against the verdict. The 42-year-old Blythe was arrested in June when he returned to the Czech Republic for another gig, not realising that he was being investigated there. He was released five weeks later on 400-thousand US dollar bail after a Prague court dismissed a prosecution request that Blythe be banned from leaving the country, fearing he wouldn't return for the trial. The relatives of the fan, who are seeking compensation, were told by the court to file a separate case, the court spokeswoman said.
