VERO BEACH WAS HIT HARD BY LAST NIGHT BY THE TROPICAL STORM NOW THREATENING THE FLORIDA PAN HANDLE. NOW THAT THE STORM IS NOT A MAJOR THREAT - IT'S TIME TO LOOK AT WHAT SHE LEFT BEHIND IN VERO BEACH. ERIN BATTERED AND BRUISED BREVARD COUNTY. THE HEAVY RAIN AND SURGING WINDS COMBINED TO DRENCH COASTLINES AND STREETS. BUT--ACCORDING TO EARLY ESTIMATES--THE DAMAGE WAS MINIMAL.

A Florida family is destroyed by terror and abuse. It all ended today on the east coast of Florida. Jeffrey Erik Johnson is accused of kidnapping his 18-month-old son in Largo.....then killing the toddler and himself when police finally caught up with them on Interstate 95 in Vero Beach. That's where police say the 28-year-old Johnson "intentionally" crashed his pickup truck into a bridge embankment. Apparently, Jeffrey Johnson lived in Largo, Florida and had a lengthly criminal history. END
