ALEXIS AND DORRANO - CELEBRATED ADAGIO DANCERS
Titles read: 'NOW FOR Alexis and Dorrano the celebrated ADAGIO DANCERS, in their famous 'Danse Apache'.

Probably filmed in Pathe Studio, London.

Setting is a seedy French cafe / bar. Item starts with Alexis taking money from a (presumed) stolen handbag, lifting her dress to hide money under her knicker elastic! Dorrano enters, sees her and demands she hand over the money.

They then begin Apache Dance which consists of Dorrano throwing Alexis around by her hair, throat, then slap each other etc. At one point Alexis knees Dorrano in the groin. Ends with Dorrano throwing the unconscious Alexis over his shoulder and leaving bar.

While all this is going on, various customers including a very well dressed couple (tourists slumming?) look on in horror.

Music played is 'Valse Apache'. No other info apart from 'Their Own Arrangement'

This is duplicate of item in Pathe Sound Pictorial PSP 870 - see separate record for details.

(TEMPTATION DANCE)
A saucy sexy "temptation dance."

Against a curtained backdrop a man and a woman perform a flirtatious slinky dance in pagan wood nymph style outfits. She throws off her floaty scarf and he grabs it and screws it up, kneeling on the ground and looking sinister. He throws the scarf aside with a dramatic gesture. She wears a flimsy sparkly trapeze artist type outfit. He falls at her feet. She contorts her body, touches him and he springs up.

Much twisting, turning, jumping, lifting the woman aloft, acrobatics, swinging each other around - general rough and tumble. Apache style stuff. He grabs her by the neck and swings her around.

Was originally an item in Eve's Film Review issue number 415.

PEEPS AT "THE MUSIC BOX" REVUE
Mr C.B. Cochran's famous "Palace" London production " The Music Box" Revue.

Renie Riano and Solly Ward perform a satire on modern dancing. Comedy dance routine in front of a large curtain. At one stage Solly throws Renie on the ground as if in an Apache routine. He then pulls her up by a tassel on her dress which comes off in his hand.

There is a "Legend of the Pearl" routine featuring Ethelind Terry. Chorus girls in very elaborate costumes parade in front of an ornate set. A silver curtain is drawn over the scene.

Note: Jessie Matthews made one of her first stage appearances in this show. Don't think she appears in the dance sequence shown here though. The outfits in the Legend of the Pearl routine are absolutely fabulous!
