M/S of Herbert Lodge standing with his double bass. He plays the instrument in various ways to suggest different animals. A "prize ox" is first. Then he makes it "warble like a bird". He explains what the double bass is usually expected to sound like in the orchestra. He plucks the strings. He then plays a tune with the bow to show how it sounds "quite pleasant as a solo instrument." He is accompanied on the piano by Leslie Bridgewater. L/S of the two musicians as they play "Drink To Me Only". Some C/Us of the double bass as it is played.
