STORYLINE:
"Ripley's Believe It or Not", the US franchise of museums and bizarre walks through tourist attractions, are helping to share some of the odd and unusual with children this Christmas season.
Ripley's museum in New York, which includes such attractions as real shrunken heads, a 31 hundred pound meteorite, an authentic Iron Maiden torture device and an albino giraffe, is one of the venues entertaining children from all over the country.
"I came and bought a toy from the store in New York, I bought a colouring book and I came to see the Lizard Man because I think that he's really amazing and I'm a big fan of the Guinness Book of World Records," said Bianca Garcia, a young fan of Ripley's and character Lizard man.
Lizard Man, a performer who has altered his body through tattoo, implants and surgery to look like a lizard, was on hand to greet the children.
Lizard Man explained the museum's toy drive.
"Ripley's Believe It or Not is well known for being the home of the odd and the bizarre. People have been coming to see the odd and bizarre at Ripley's for years. But now Ripley's is taking in the odd and the bizarre in the form of unusual gifts that they are going to redistribute via toys for tots for needy children this Christmas season," the Lizard man said.
