The flying debris struck the family car carrying four people. The five-year-old girl was killed, her nine-year-old brother was severely burned and her parents are also being treated now for burns. The jet lost altitude shortly after takeoff. Flying information with the other jets and the air force is speculating that it might have hit a flock of birds. The airport says they have not determined decisively the cause of the crash but that is the speculation at the moment. The crash happened within the perimeter of the airport, which means the jet fell within the fence of the airport and the family was actually driving on a country road on the outside perimeter when the fiery debris struck their car ending in tragedy. The air force says they'll be conducting a full investigation into the matter. Various of roadblock and soldiers STORYLINE: Insurgents lashed back at Iraqi forces trying to secure Baghdad's streets on Sunday, launching a series of suicide attacks, car bombings and assaults that kill at least 27 people. In eastern Baghdad, a suicide attacker detonated a car bomb outside the heavily fortified Iraqi Oil Ministry in eastern Baghad killing two guards. The driver of a Volkswagen sedan packed with explosives tried to ram it through the gate of the ministry building, a government spokesman said. Guards opened fire on the vehicle, which exploded about 20 metres (yards) from the gate, killing the guards and wounding a policeman. In the Amiriyah district, three car bombs exploded as US and Iraqi vehicle patrolled the airport road. An eyewitness said the first car bomb hit two Humvees and then American forces surrounded the area. The second bomb targeted an Iraqi police car. Eyewitness Ali Hussein told APTN that "many" died in the second attack. There was no immediate official comment. In eastern Baghdad's Zayouna area, another suicide car bomb attack killed four policemen and wounded four others in an explosion targeting the police patrol. Insurgents also attacked the headquarters of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Tuz Khormato, south of Kirkuk and 290 kilometres (180 miles) north of Baghdad. Two Iraqis died. In the Kahla area, militants targeted a British military convoy, killing one soldier and injuring four others. The attack occurred some 40 kilometres (25 miles) south of Amarah and 290 kilometres (180 miles) southeast of Baghdad. The British Ministry of Defence said none of the injured soldiers had life-threatening wounds but did not give further details. An Iraqi police officer said the casualties were caused by an IED and that two other explosive devices were also discovered. "Today at 8am a bomb exploded targeting British troops," said witness Ahmed Aziz Saleh. "We saw pieces of body and hair from the dead British soldier and his blood on the ground." The bulk of Britain's 9,500-strong military deployment is based in southern Iraq, including at the main British headquarters in Basra, southeast of Baghdad. Sunday's attacks came as Iraqi security forces launched a high-profile campaign in Baghdad, dubbed Operation Lightning, aimed at curbing insurgent bombings and assassinations. More than 700 people have been killed since the April 28 announcement of the new Iraqi government, according to an Associated Press
