Hundreds of dead fish are floating on Central Park Lake in New York City. Because of the extreme winter weather, the alage which blooms and provides oxygen to the water didn't bloom enough this year. Now dead fish abound in the park, and since the first real heat/humidity wave of the summer is upon the City, the stench is very powerful and probably will get worse before it gets any better.

The body of a 40-year-old man was pulled from The Lake in Central Park this morning. He had his throat cut and had been stabbed numerous times. Two teenagers were arrested a short time afterward. Their identities and that of the victim are not being released yet.
