NEW YORK, NEW YORK – DECEMBER 13: New York Governor Kathy Hochul signs four new laws to protect consumers from medicine price gouging, medical debt, and unfair business practices on December 13, 2023 in New York City. A particular law seeks to shield customers from pharmaceutical price gouging and the monetary fallout from medical debt. In addition to informing customers of automatic subscription renewals, the other rules seek to reduce predatory subscription services and increase openness regarding the cost of goods and services.
