COLLINSON AND DEAN
No titles.

Pathe Studio, London.

Comedian Ronald Frankau appears and breathes on his top hat then shines it. He introduces the next act of Collinson and Dean, and says he would like to say more but his heart, like the glass in his dressing room, is too full for words. (This is from a later compilation - Pathetone Parade of 1938.)

Cut to comedians Collinson and Dean on a set dressed to look like a London street. The older one is dressed in a bowler hat and suit, the younger one in schoolboy uniform and cap. There is a street sign on the wall behind them reading 'Nelson Street'.

The older man asks the younger where Nelson Street is, and the younger says he knows where it is but it's difficult to get there from here. The older one says he has business in Nelson Street because he "travels in gas ovens". The younger one thinks that must be a bit hot.

Then they get into a lot of crosstalk about the schoolboy's family and the older one gets very exasperated, kicking himself on the leg at one point for getting into this conversation. The boy says he has a nephew with 3 feet and after much misunderstanding he takes out a letter from his sister that says the nephew "has grown another foot". The man tries to explain she means height, not a "feet foot", but the boy won't have it. He gets upset and says "What would you do if you grew another foot?" and the man says "Put a sock on it!".

In frustration the man puts a wire rubbish bin full of paper on top of the boy's head and walks off.

This is a good one! Very funny.
