Paris, France. The entrance of the Jewish hostel located at 16 Rue Lamarck, Montmartre. People enter the hostel. Several men lie in cots in the men's quarters and a few walk around the room. View of a plaque on the end of one bed that reads (in French) "In memory of Colonel Alfred Dreyfus 1859-1935." A man at a blackboard teaches French and several men listen, write and learn French in the classroom. People enter the building and stand in line near the Director's office. Woman with a child along with others enters a room for registration. Director Beilin checks records and papers from the people and consults index cards. Two Jewish men cook using large pots on a stove. One chef samples the food from a small bowl. Location: Paris France. Date: December 1938.

The annual Grand Prix de Pau sees Rene Dreyfus fighting it out with Rudolf Caracciola for the title of one of France's biggest auto races on the winding streets of Pau. It's a close finish but Dreyfus wins the race.

Funeral procession of Maitre of Labori (full name Fernande Gustave Gaston Labori); a French lawyer who served as defence counsel for Albert Dreyfus; in the controversial trial in France; 1894. <br/> <br/>Elaborate and traditional procession. Horse-drawn hearse covered completely in roses. Two men with gold medallions; followed by a large group of men in long robes and pillbox type hats; I'm not sure if these men are something to do with the legal profession; or if they may be some branch of rabbis or other Jews. <br/> <br/>Then official mourners all in black with long black veils over their faces and hanging down; black hats on top of those. More people follow including some French Army. Ends with CU of man wearing suit & tie - he takes a cigarette case out of his pocket and gets out a cigarette.

Following allegations of misconduct, the House Democratic Caucus stripped Congressman Adam Clayton Powell of his committee chairmanship. In response, Powell says "You know what I am? I am the Black Dreyfus of America...They looked for a scapegoat and they picked the highest ranking Jew in the French armed forces. But, he was later exonerated"
