A fourth person has died as a result of the explosion that ripped through a toy factory in Los Angeles yesterday.

Three people have been killed and at least 25 others have been injured in a toy factory explosion in Downtown Los Angeles. Firefighters and rescue teams are treating injuries at the "Imperial Toy Factory.” Firefighters are continuing to search the building for people. The blast was a flash powder fire at the factory, which is known for making flash powder for toy guns. "It was like a sonic boom," said Salvador Zepeda, owner of a cafe down the block.

In Los Angeles today at least five buildings were evacuated when a suspicious package, which later turned out to be only electronic equipment, was found in the mailroom in the downtown Federal Building. Thousands streamed into the streets and traffic was diverted over a wide region. The bomb squad worked on the package for four hours before it was opened by a mechanical robot and found to be completely safe. The event disturbed many, making. Employees leave their personal belongings such as car keys in the buildings. Children were difficult to reunite amongst the chaos after being evacuated from a Children's Museum. LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A Los Angeles city councilman is proposing a $75,000 reward for information that helps authorities track down whoever set a Dec. 8 fire that tore through a downtown apartment complex under construction alongside the Harbor (110) Freeway. The fire flared up in the early morning and destroyed much of the Da Vinci apartment complex, causing between $25 million to $35 million in damages. The fire also damaged two nearby office towers owned by the city. One was re-opened a few days after the fire, but the other has hundreds of broken windows and other damages that will likely take at least six months to repair, according to city officials. Whoever set off the fire poses "an ongoing threat to the safety of the people of Los Angeles," warranting the $75,000 reward, Councilman Jose Huizar's motion says. The motion will go before the City Council's Public Safety Committee, which will decide whether to bring the reward proposal to the full City Council for approval.
