A film 'Over Sapphire Seas' shows the voyage of the Panama Pacific ocean liner from New York City to San Francisco. The cruise ship leaves New York. A crowd waves as the ocean liner departs from the harbor. The captain and other naval officers look through a sextant. A couple view a map showing the ship's route. A woman in a gymnasium on board the ship does weightlifting and strengthening drills pulling on weighted ropes in the gym. A group of passengers on deck does group stretching and calisthenics. A woman is served breakfast in bed. Women shop aboard the ship. Children play musical chairs and other children enjoy an activity room and riding on hobby horses. Other children toss a ball over a net. A waiter distributes sandwiches to the children. Passengers play table tennis and shuffle board. The captain takes a round of the ship. Passengers relax and enjoy the refreshments. Women swim in a pool. And underwater picture view, with underwater photos offered as a novelty to passengers on the Panama Pacific Line. A fat man jumps into the pool. Through the underwater cameras a boy is seen picking up plates from the bottom of the 8 foot deep pool to win a contest. Passengers in black tie and formal evening wear drink and dine on the luxury ship at the end of the day. A butcher cuts beef steak and roasts it on charcoal.
