Entertainment Daily: Billy Bob Thornton - Billy Bob Thornton stars in US country star, Travis Tritt's new video
TAPE: EF02/0022 IN_TIME: 22:15:59 DURATION: 2:38 SOURCES: VNR RESTRICTIONS: music video/performance rights must be cleared DATELINE: USA, Recent SHOTLIST 1. video clip Travis Tritt 'Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde' 2. SOT Billy Bob Thornton - "I've been asked to do numerous videos and I have never done because when you are an actor in your spare time you don't want to go and be in a video but this is a terrific song and I just love Travis as an artist." 3. BTS on video shoot 4. SOT Travis Tritt - "Every time I have been around him he is a great guy and we consistently laugh when we are around each other. Every time that Billy Bob and I have spent time together at the end of the day my stomach hurts from laughing so much and that is always a good thing." 5. BTS on video shoot 6. SOT Billy Bob Thornton - "For me it is fun to do this, to come out here with a friend and do something like this and like I said I have an enormous amount of respect for Travis, he's such a great singer and songwriter and musician. It's a real treat to be able to do this and it's real different to what I do also. You might think being an actor in a video is kind of what I do, it's really not, I don't work this way, it's different. It's different enough that I can come out and have fun, you know what I mean." 7. video clip Travis Tritt 'Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde' BILLY BOB THORNTON PLAYS CLYDE - IN MUSIC VIDEO Oscar winning actor Billy Bob Thornton is the latest actor to take on the role of renegade outlaw Travis Clyde - but in a music video. The 'Monster's Ball' actor plays the legendary outlaw in the video for Country superstar Travis Tritt's latest single, 'Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde.' Billy Bob, himself a singer/songwriter, normally turns down requests to star in other artists video but when Travis asked he said yes right away. Thornton felt he could wrap himself around the role of Travis's Clyde, on the run after holding up a convenience store with his girlfriend. He will inevitably be compared to Warren Beatty, who starred opposite Faye Dunaway in the classic 1967 film 'Bonnie and Clyde', which was shot in Texas. The music video version was shot on the edge of the Mojave Desert in California. Travis and Billy Bob first met at a recording session in Nashville when mutual friend Marty Stuart was producing Billy Bob's CD, PRIVATE RADIO. Tritt also contributed his hit, 'Anymore' to 'Daddy and Them', a film written and directed by Billy Bob. Travis has been heralded for his video work in the past. Throughout his 11 year career he has shot 27 videos including the compelling video series consisting of 'Anymore', 'Tell Me I Was Dreaming' and 'If I Lost You,' in which he portrayed Mac Singleton, a disabled American war veteran. 'Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde' is the 4th single from his platinum selling album, 'Down the Road I Go'. 'Down the Road I Go' has sold over one million copies and has already delivered two number-one singles and one number two. CRAZES
M/S of Carnaby Street in London; commentator says we're here "to see a few crazes in the making". C/U of a fake newspaper front page: The London Gleaner - 'Pathe Pictorial Visits Kitchener's Valet' is the headline. In the shop 'I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet', founded by John Paul, we see two young men in old military jackets (as was the fashion) looking at various Union Jack / military souvenirs. Excellent L/S of the exterior of the shop, covered in Kitchener posters.

The men look at the news headline whilst lazing on a park bench; C/U of three medals one of the boys wears on his military jacket, reading 'I Was Lord Kitchener's Valet', 'I Am An £.S.D. Addict' and 'I Relieved Ladysmith'. Suddenly a 'real' ancient military man appears and shouts at the boys; they stand to attention and button up their tunics; as the man marches off we see he is wearing a pair of stripy shorts - no trousers!

Cut to a hippy boy walking along a residential street in an Afghan coat and rolled up trousers; he walks straight into the path of a speeding car (Aston Martin) that stops short of running him over. The hippy shouts at the driver; a couple get out, dressed in a cool 1930s style; commentator says "But what happens when one trend meets another? When hippy meets Bonnie and Clyde?". The girl nods at her partner who takes a machine gun from the car and fires at the hippy; he falls down in the road and does much twitching as he gets the bullets (as in the 'Bonnie and Clyde' film of 1967). The car drives off.

We then see a bizarre sequence where a pervy-looking man in a raincoat strolls beside a lake, wearing a plastic Union Jack hat. He sits beside a girl wrapped in a cloak and we see his orange slit-sunglasses read 'I am a psychiatrist - Lie down'. The girl shakes her head and resists until the man takes out a Kitchener poster and puts it on the ground; she takes off her cloak to reveal a Union Jack bikini and lies down on the poster. The man lies next to her, puts a 'Do Not Disturb' sign on her thigh; she has a Union Jack watch hanging from her bikini; the man winds a Union Jack alarm clock, puts it beside the girl and starts to kiss her. Cuts exist - see separate record.

GENE WILDER INTERVIEW 1984
Jerome Silberman (June 11, 1933 – August 29, 2016), known professionally as Gene Wilder, was an American actor, screenwriter, director, producer, singer-songwriter and author. Wilder began his career on stage, and made his screen debut in an episode of the TV series The Play of the Week in 1961. Although his first film role was portraying a hostage in the 1967 motion picture Bonnie and Clyde,[1] Wilder's first major role was as Leopold Bloom in the 1967 film The Producers for which he was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. This was the first in a series of collaborations with writer/director Mel Brooks, including 1974's Blazing Saddles and Young Frankenstein, which Wilder co-wrote, garnering the pair an Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay. Wilder is known for his portrayal of Willy Wonka in Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) and for his four films with Richard Pryor: Silver Streak (1976), Stir Crazy (1980), See No Evil, Hear No Evil (1989), and Another You (1991). Wilder directed and wrote several of his own films, including The Woman in Red (1984). With his third wife, Gilda Radner, he starred in three films, the last two of which he also directed. Her 1989 death from ovarian cancer led to his active involvement in promoting cancer awareness and treatment, helping found the Gilda Radner Ovarian Cancer Detection Center in Los Angeles and co-founding Gilda's Club. After his last acting performance in 2003 – a guest role on Will & Grace for which he received an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor – Wilder turned his attention to writing. He produced a memoir in 2005, Kiss Me Like a Stranger: My Search for Love and Art; a collection of stories, What Is This Thing Called Love (2010); and the novels My French Whore (2007), The Woman Who Wouldn't (2008) and Something to Remember You By (2013).

A cable TV station in the States has unearthed a little gem from the half forgotten archives of black and white TV. The episode of TV show THE MANY LIVES OF DOBIE GILLIS from forty years ago features a very, very young Beatty playing a student running for high school president. This was back when Beatty was just another pretty face on the Hollywood lots and long before he made his name in movies like SHAMPOO and BONNIE AND CLYDE. But at least some things don't change. Back on Dobie Gillis, Beatty's character was outlining the reasons why he should be made high school president - he's handsome and he's rich. Fast forward to 1999 and Beatty is making noises about the possibility of running for the States' highest office. Apparently Warren is unhappy with the calibre of Democratic candidates running to replace Clinton when the next election is called. And Warren is still handsome and rich, so maybe he could just win. Beatty's last movie was BULWORTH, a savage and cynically comical look as the absurdities of the modern democratic process.
