Over 100 corporations and research institutes from around the world are displaying their cyber creations.
While industrial robots set the pace for precision and speed, a new generation of robotic pets, especially designed to keep humans company, are making their debut.

One of Japan's leading research centres, the Waseda University, introduced its robot known as "Wamoeba-2".
This "droid" can recognise a person's touch, hear sounds and watch its surroundings with the electronic equivalent of eyes.

One of the researchers who worked on its development says "the robot's colour reveals its emotions. For example, when you shake hands with it, the colour on its chest changes to yellow, meaning it's happy."
